How to Get the Most Out of Your Golf Lessons
Please see below my top tips on how to get the most out of your golf lessons…
Before Your Golf Lesson
Think about what you would like to take away from your golf lesson. What would you like to learn? If you’re not sure, think about the last round you played… What let you down or what could have gone better?
Remember, in terms of facilities, Swanston has it all and you have access to all these facilities during your golf lesson. We can work on any aspect of your game and on-course lessons are always an option.
On the day of your golf lesson, aim to arrive at least 20 minutes early.
Warm up, I would recommend hitting no more than 25 balls before the start of your golf lesson. Going through a proper warm up will significantly reduce your risk of injury. Range balls can be purchased from the club shop which is located at the top of Swanston Road.
During Your Golf Lesson
Ask questions - my goal as a coach is to help you understand and think for yourself so that you can become a problem solving machine. There are no stupid or silly questions
If you don’t understand something, don’t be afraid to ask “why”. I will always do my best to check for understanding therefore I will often ask you difficult questions. It’s ok not to know the answer!
Remember you are the boss, you are the star of the show. I’m support staff and my job is to support you in achieving the results that you want.
After Your Golf Lesson
Book a follow-up lesson. The purpose of a follow-up lesson is to ensure that you are on the right track so that we can consolidate what you have learned.
Before you leave, spend an additional 20 minutes to practice what you have learned during your golf lesson.
If you purchased a basket of 50 balls you should have 25 balls left to cool down. Important note: You don’t need to hit all 25 balls. If you’ve achieved your goals for the day, spread the love and donate your basket to someone in need.
When You Get Home
1. Open your CoachNow app, select your space, hit the orange wheel, create a note and write down your answers to the following questions…
Q. What did I learn today?
Q. How will apply what I have learned going forward?
